Warrior Chicken is the name of a famous character from the era of the late ’70’s. His growing fan base was simply amazing.

As the series “The Incredible Hulk” was beginning to really see sagging viewership, it was suggested by Bill Bixby that “maybe the hulk could join forces with Warrior Chicken in some crossover thing to leverage his massive fans with the hopes they would stick around?”

Terms were set and Warrior Chicken agreed for twelve shows within the next two years.

Seen above is a still from the first installment where Warrior Chicken announces his joining with the hulk. Unfortunately, the script was simply done in general terms and the players were asked to ad lib somewhat but convey the idea that they both wanted to fight the bad guys. Warrior Chicken mentioned on screen, that he was “Angry with the injustice and mad at those who do injustice”. Then he added, “you don’t want to see me mad!”…

“Cut, CUT, C U T !!!” shouted Bixby. “That’s my standard line! You can’t say that!”

Bixby stormed off the set towards his trailer and Warrior Chicken went towards his. A strike of sorts started and the series was delayed for weeks.

The Best Boy (the man who does the lighting) turned to the key grip and said, “That Warrior guy kinda looks like that guy from the comic books, ahhh, what’s his name? Soar? Boar?…. no, it’s Thor !?!… anyway, why don’t we get him?”
