Yes, once again it’s Shark Week on the Discovery channel.

It’s a series that the people seem to enjoy each year. It lines up with the story line introduced in the monumental shark movie ‘Jaws’ back in 1975 where Amity Island tries to cope with the sea killers.

Since then, mid summer fun seems to focus on reruns of the many shark themed movies as well as the Discovery channel reinventing itself.

Seeing an opportunity to further do his part as well as enjoying a boost in popularity, Chainsaw Chicken donned his wet suit and volunteered to pitch in. After repeated attempts to be assigned to some duty in the process, the producers finally relented and came up with a new job, never offered in the previous shows. He was told that he needed to measure the opening of each sharks jaws. It seemed very important to gather crucial comparative data for their upcoming segment: Shark Dentistry.

Chainsaw anxiously grabbed his wooden ruler remaining from the 7th grade school supplies and jumped into the depths along with the cloud of chum fish pieces and blood.

In no time, several Mako sharks began to circle. As the sharks got closer he would gesture to them to get even closer. When the first shark made its furious approach, the filming stopped. No word on the actual measurements he was able to take. It was reported that the wooden ruler simply floated to the surface.

The search continues.
