Mass formation psychosis? What is it?

Let me put it to you in the form a metaphor.

Imagine you are in a theater audience about to enjoy a performance of some magician that is an Alec Baldwin doppelganger.

As you sit in the audience, ‘The Great Alec’ began with some simple magic, like ‘rabbit in the hat’ and a skimpy bouquet of fake flowers that turn into a magic wand. The real tough stuff.

Suddenly, his assistant appears, he introduces her as his Spanish wife ‘Hilarious’.  Alec continues by asking for a volunteer from the audience.  ‘Hilarious’ ventures into the seats and approaches me.  She gently grasps my arm and says “Sénior… por favor levantese. (please stand)”.

I begin to rise from my seat as she turns to ‘The Great Alec” and proclaims with her other arm sweeping in a grand gesture, “El heffe. Nosotros tenemos un voluntario! (We have a volunteer)”

I was escorted to the stage and seated in a chair while ‘The Great Alec” announced to the theater that he was going to hypnotize me and turn me into a chicken. I said to him “I already have a head start on you, Rusty”. He ignored me.

He turned quickly before he started, raised a finger in the air and pronounced a warning.”I must ask, for your own safety people, do not watch too closely while I remake this volunteer into a chicken, as you too may also be transformed.”

With that, he turned and started swinging a shinny object in front of me while he recited his mumbo-jumbo. “Sleep…….. SLEEP…….S-L-E-E-P!!! Your eyelids are getting heavy. SLEEP! When I snap my fingers you will become a chicken!”

With that, ‘The Great Alec” reared up and snapped his fingers  and said “I am your destiny” like he was fashioning himself after Thanos from the Avengers movies.

The theater audience went quiet. No sounds at all. I sat there with my eyes still closed. Softly, subtly from the crowd in the seats you began to hear soft clucking. More and more. It began to build within a few seconds.

I squinted and raised one eyelid to see the audience begin to flap their arms and scrape the ground looking for curious things to peck.

‘The Great Alec’ stood there. His hand over his mouth. All he would say is “I didn’t fire it, it went off on it’s own”.

“Seems you got something backwards and the watchers got your spell and not me. Looks  like you’ve got another mess on you hands, Alec”,  I chortled as I rose from my chair and walked off stage.

This is my metaphor of Mass formation psychosis. But we should ask an expert.

Let’s ask Dr. Robert Malone how he sees Mass formation psychosis.
